DRYADES & AMADRYADES
Art workshops – symposia in the area of Lake Plastiras. Every summer, the seminar-camp “Dryades” and every winter, the seminar-camp “Amadryades”, in collaboration with organizations and the residents of our area.

Out of love for theater, poetry, music, cinema, the performing arts but also for all forms of artistic expression, we have been organizing since 2004 in the area of Lake Plastiras the seminar-camp “Dryades” every summer and the seminar -camp “Amadryades” every winter, in collaboration with the local entities and the residents of our area.
We feel the need for continuous substantial training and research.
We love Karditsa, our birthplace, not as the place where the romantics placed their utopia, but as a place where the past and present can interact and be brought together.
We emphasize the creative, pedagogical role of art and make sure to have open lines of communication with artists, teachers, and those who have artistic sensitivities in our area, but also those who want to come and share in our activities from any place, and we take action in the field of artistic expression.
However, we are not possessed by the stress of professionals, nor by the often ungrounded arrogance of amateurs. Finally, we deal with theater and all forms of art because we find that, this way, we effectively fight the diseases of our time, that is self-isolation, utilitarianism, individualism and the siren song of profit, ultimately achieving communication in a field where many of the diseases of our time are exorcised.
These gatherings include many activities in the area such as tributes to people of art, visits to the sights of the area, music nights, performances, exhibitions, competitions, customs, sports activities (nature walks, archery, lake biking, mountain biking, fencing, horse riding), preparation of local delicacies where the participants and the locals work together for quality and constructive tourism along with the training.
Imagination is our tool to constantly reinvigorate the tutor (animator) and a creative method of training for the student. Imagination is considered the “queen of all gifts”.
In reality, imagination replaces “the conventional interpretation of material life”, it replaces the act with the dream. Having the need to unite people from all over the world, teachers, artists, students, drama students, musicians, theatrologists and those who wish to cultivate their art with the encouragement of experienced teachers, to pour out their soul and love and to enjoy nature in the heart of Greece, in the middle of the earth (Mediterranean) in southern Pindos.
From the peaks of Agrafa to their “daughter” Lake Plastiras, we have found that art, dryads and hamadryads (nymphs of the forest) unite us both in the summer and the winter.
